I made this drawing (the swirling line part) a couple of years back. Then, a few weeks ago I drew my daughter Juniper leaping into it and now it has become something marvelous.

I’ve realized that whenever I come across an “okay” drawing, (especially an abstract one that I would otherwise throw away), adding a character into it gives it new life.

Sometimes when we step away from an artwork and revisit it at a later time, the pieces just fall into place. Often times this break gives us the inspiration we need.
